Based on the classic arcade game Rampart, Hostile Tides puts you in charge of coastal defenses and destroying marauding enemy ships.  Strengthen and expand your walls to protect all the towns on the map.  Build powerful cannons to blast the enemy out of the water and the air.  Achieve total victory by conquering all 9 unique maps.

Hostile Tides now lets you choose between 2 different game modes; “Hostile Tides Mode” and “Rampart Mode”.  Think things through when building in Hostile Tides Mode or frantically place Tetris style wall blocks before the time runs out in Rampart Mode.

Hostile Tides also lets you choose between 3 levels of difficulty.  Can you achieve total victory on both game modes and all levels of difficulty?

Great Rampart memories
Loved it. The Hostile Tides mode is harder and more fun. Thanks for a fun week beating this!
Its O.K.
Based on "Rampart", but not the same. Part of the fun of that classic was piecing the castle walls back together with random tetris-style shapes while racing against the clock. Hostile Tides does not include that gameplay element. I also miss the trac-ball aiming scheme of Rampart. (Not your fault, developer. The iPhone is what it is.) Maybe I was expecting too much. If you dont remember Rampart, this is probably a good purchase...for .99 Graphics are good, game runs smoothly.
Its no rampart, but it will do
I got this hoping to play rampart. It is slightly different but pretty close. For example; in rampart you earned more cannons by taking neiboring towns. In this you complete the level by keeping all the towns for 2 turns. In rampart you got a time limit to piece your walls back together with random tetris pieces where in this one you get points for killing ships that you spend on cannons and walls. This works well for tge touch interface, but id like to see the option to play the clasic game. And some wifi multiplayer would be great as well.
OK, But Needs Work
Easy and medium levels were fun. Took about 20 minutes to get through. Hard levels are ridiculous. Too bad, there isnt more to it. Good concept building on the Rampart theme, but needs a lot more content.
Great Game
Im really enjoying this game. The graphics are outstanding. Its a lot of fun to blast the ships. It was definately worth the money!!!
